The squirrels powering the FUDCO data center died in a tragic curling accident in the wee small hours of the morning of Bunker Hill Day, taking the contents of the whole fudco.com domain with them. We are now limping along on an interim server cobbled together using duct tape and cable ties, but our crack team of 133t Linux server ninjas are hard at work on restoration. We hope to have FUDCO.com, Habitat Chronicles, and Chip Plays With The Web back online soon.
In the meantime, any of you members of the Internet Hive Mind with knowledge of extracting bits from a crippled Dell PERC 3/Si RAID array are invited to email chip@fudco.com with any wisdom and/or sympathy you have to offer.
Update by Chip, 30-June-2008: we've set up an interim replacement for Habitat Chronicles at habitatchronicles.com. Currently all fudco.com Habitat links will redirect there. Randy and I will be reconstructing things there incrementally, starting with the highest traffic items first.
Update by Chip, 22-June-2008: by combining personal backups with the help of the Internet Archive and the Google cache, I was able to recover all of my personal website except for the photo gallery. (I have the images for the gallery, just not the pages that glue them together, so it can be reconstructed if need be.) Habitat Chronicles remains the lost treasure, however.
